What can Ndt do for you?

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) can help you determine the "life" left within vessels, tanks, piping and other equipment so you can plan accordingly to repair or replace. NDT can also detect weak spots or flaws within ferromagnetic materials, which can cause issues if ignored. This technology not only saves you money, but can help prevent catastrophic events. This testing is vital to the ethanol and oil industry. NDT testing from PMT will help keep your facility in compliance of your PSM Program. 866-254-8177 to schedule a meeting with our NDT team today.

Why you should have pmt perform ndt testing

PMT follows requirements for Mechanical Integrity specified by OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management, and will make sure we are within your budget. Our Certified Technicians will help bring you up to speed on the integrity of your piping, vessels and tanks with state of the art technology, saving you time and money as well as preventing catastrophic failure. We perform Ultra Sonic Thickness testing that follows API Standards:  API 570 (Piping);          API 510 (Vessels);  API 653 (Tanks) as well as internal inspections on vessels and tanks, thickness testing on steam lines, waterlines and more. We offer AutoCAD drawings for all lines of your plant along with the ability to supply and install plugs on all insulated piping, saving you time and money.

What types of NDT DOES PMT OFFER?

There are many different types of NDT Tests out there. PMT focuses on four different categories:

  • Ultrasonic Thickness - using high frequency sound to measure thickness of vessels, tanks, etc. Typically used for flow detection/evaluation, dimensional measurements, material characterization and more. It is sensitive to both surface and subsurface discontinuities, highly accurate in determining size and shape, requires minimal part preparation, and has instantaneous results. PMT follows requirements for Mechanical Integrity specified by OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management.
  • Magnetic Particle - this is another fairly common and easy method of non-destructive testing. It is typically used to detect flaws or week spots within ferromagnetic materials. It is used to inspect a variety of product forms such as: castings, forgings, and weldments along with pipelines.
  • Dye Penetrant - this test is one of the most widely used non-destructive evaluation methods. This is due to the great flexibility that it offers it inspecting different types of materials such as metals (aluminum, copper, steel, titanium, etc.), glass, ceramic materials, rubber and plastics. This method also is very sensitive to small surface discontinuities, has few material limitations, is effective for large areas and volumes of materials, and is typically low cost solution.
  • API Inspections - this test is vital for all ethanol and oil processing plants.  PMT’s Certified Technicians will help bring you up to speed on the integrity of your piping, vessels and tanks with state of the art technology. We perform testing that follows API Standards:  API 570 (Piping);  API 510 (Vessels);  API 653 (Tanks). This will help insure quality, safety and help improve product reliability.
